Dancer/choreographer Idan Cohen, a former Visiting Israeli Artist, brings together Amherst dancers and Israeli singers for a dance opera

Idan Cohen, a former Schusterman Visiting Israeli Artist at Amherst College, was invited back to the campus this spring to teach two dance class. In a collaboration with the Amherst College Theater and Dance Department, the Amherst College Orchestra, and theIdan Cohen Dance Company, several notable Israeli opera singers came to perform in I Capuleti e l Montecchi (The Capulets and the Montagues), a dance opera premiering at Amherst College, April 21 & 23.

The Israel Institute's Schusterman Visiting Artist Program is an initiative that brings Israeli artists from various disciplines for a semester-long residency at colleges across the United States, where they teach courses and interact with the local community through performances and exhibitions.
