Marge Goldwater

Director of Arts and Cultural Programs

Marge Goldwater directs the Schusterman Visiting Israeli Artist Program under the auspices of the Israel Institute. Now in its 10th year, the program brings Israeli artists of different disciplines—filmmakers, choreographers, writers, musicians and visual artists—to American college campuses to teach for a semester. To date, she has enlisted campuses such as Amherst, Harvard, UC Berkeley and Wesleyan to participate. Prior to that, for more than a decade, she was executive director of the Jewish Foundation for Education of Women, which provides scholarships for higher education on a nonsectarian basis in New York. She was a museum curator at the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, and the Fort Worth Art Museum, organizing exhibitions of international contemporary art, and founded an art gallery in NY for leading Israeli artists. She has a B.A. in art history from Reed College and an M.B.A. from UCLA.
