Rawia Hayik is an Associate Professor and pedagogical advisor in the English Department at Sakhnin Academic College for Teacher Education. Dr. Hayik's post-doctoral research explores the use of participatory documentary photography with college students to address social justice issues and problems in the linguistic landscape in the Galilee area. She recently co-authored, "Culture-based pedagogy in the Palestinian-Israeli college classroom," (Pedagogy Culture and Society, February 2022) and authored, "Challenging traditional gender roles in the Arab classroom through transaction with literature," (Language Teaching Research, October 2021). Dr. Hayik received her Ph.D. from Indiana University (2012).
