Tamar Hofnung's fields of interest are political history, political sociology, and human rights. Her current research focuses on Israel’s diversity and affirmative action policies. Particularly, the effect of the lack of official evaluation guidelines and lack of systematic data gathering on policymaking in state institutions. Dr. Hofnung was previously a Postdoctoral Research scholar at the University of California at Berkeley. She has been awarded, among other honors, the Rothschild Post-Doctoral Fellowship by the Yad Hanadiv Foundation and the Shulamit Aloni Scholarship for Advancing Women in Science by the Israel Ministry of Science, Technology & Space. Dr. Hofnung received her Ph.D. from Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2020).
