Alon Tam is the 2021-22 postdoctoral fellow at the UCLA Y&S Nazarian Center for Israel Studies. He is a historian of the modern Middle East and the region's Jewish communities. Dr. Tam's research interests include urban history, social relations and identities, historical anthropology, and culture and politics. He previously was a Fellow at the Herbert D. Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Tam earned his Ph.D. from University of Pennsylvania (2017).
