
Oren Barak

Oren Barak is the Maurice B. Hexter Chair in International Relations – Middle East Studies and an Associate Professor of Political Science at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. His research areas include the relationship between the state, society and security in non-Western settings with an emphasis on the Middle East. Professor Barak was a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University and a Visiting Professor at Cornell University and the University of Texas at Austin. He is the author of, State Expansion and Conflict: In and Between Israel/Palestine and Lebanon (Cambridge University Press, 2017). Professor Barak received his Ph.D. from Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2001).
